Recordings

Want to capture a quick voice memo, a podcast segment, or a customer interview—without installing a single thing? Our Online Voice Recorder runs entirely in your browser, saving every file (and optional transcript) locally so nothing ever leaves your device. Follow the steps below to go from blank page to polished, share‑ready audio in minutes.

1. Choose Your Mic & Output Format

First things first: tell the recorder where to listen and how to save.

2. Enable & Configure Transcription (Optional Captions)

Want a written copy of what you say? Toggle the Transcribe switch on.

  1. Select Language. Pick the language you’ll be speaking so the speech‑to‑text engine can recognise words accurately.
  2. Live or Later? Leave the default “Live” option on to see words appear in real‑time, or disable it for a faster recording experience and let the app generate the transcript the moment you press Stop.
  3. Privacy Note. Transcription happens locally—no audio is uploaded to a server—so your words stay yours.

3. Record, Pause, Resume & Stop

Hit Record and watch the magic:

Tap Pause any time you need silence, then Resume. When you’re done, press Stop. Your new take lands in the Recordings panel instantly.

4. Review & Rename Your Takes

Every take appears as a tidy card that shows:

5. Trim with Drag‑to‑Select

Need only the good part? Drag the gray handles on the mini‑waveform to mark a region. Everything outside that window is temporarily ignored for both playback and export—no risky destructive edits.

Tip: Watch the in/out timestamps above the region to line up cuts with exact timecodes.

6. Fine‑Tune Seek Timing

Transcripts are word‑timestamped. Clicking a word jumps the playhead there, but mics and browsers can drift. If the audio starts a hair too soon or late, nudge the Seek Delay slider between −3000 ms and +3000 ms until the sync feels perfect.

7. Edit & Download the Transcript

The transcript box is just text—type directly to fix names, punctuation, or filler words. When satisfied, click Download Transcript to save a clean .txt file for captions, blog posts, or show notes.

8. Export Clean Audio

Hit Download. If you set a trim region, the app slices inside the browser—no quality‑loss re‑encoding—so you get only the selected segment. Formats export exactly as recorded; WAV converts only if you picked it up front.

9. Manage Local Storage

All recordings live in your browser’s localStorage, so they persist after refresh but never hit the cloud.
